WALCOTT SEVENTH4x4 men primed for podiumKwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: 12.08.2017KESHORN WALCOTT made a promising start to his medal bid in the IAAF World Championship men's javelin final at the London Stadium, here in England, yesterday. But the solid 84.48 metres effort that placed him third after the opening round turned out to be his best on the day, and the Trinidad and Tobago thrower ended the competition in seventh spot. "I can't say I'm disappointed," Walcott told the Sunday Express. "I'm happy to place seventh in my first World Championship final. I would have liked to do better, but it has been a difficult season, and as you can see, there was some big throwing today." Germany's Johannes Vetter was golden with a huge 89.89m effort. Czech Republic earned silver and bronze, Jakub Vadlejch and Petr Frydrych throwing 89.73m and 88.32m, respectively.
