Denoon, Warren, Walters bag NJCAA goldThomas shines in New YorkKwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: 06.03.2016(NJCAA) Indoor Track and Field Championships, in North Carolina, USA, on the weekend. Zakiya Denoon captured the women's sprint double. The Monroe College freshman won the women's 60 metres dash in 7.42 seconds and the 200m in 24.09. Another T&T sprinter, South Plains College sophomore Aaliyah Telesford was sixth in the 60m final in 7.58 seconds, after clocking 7.55 in the qualifying round. And in the 200m preliminaries, Telesford was 10th overall in 25.12 seconds, while New Mexico Junior College sophomore Kayelle Clarke was 12th in 25.22. The top nine advanced to the finals. Portious Warren captured the women's shot put title with a Championship record throw of 16.29 metres. The Central Arizona College freshman produced a 16.60m effort for fourth spot in the weight throw.
