Ahye flies in TexasWins too for James, Lalonde, Denoon, AlexanderKwame Laurence ::: Trinidad Express :: 01.02.2016Michelle-Lee Ahye continued her fine run of form this season when she clocked a world-leading 7.12 seconds for victory in the women's 60 metres open final, at the Houston Invitational indoor meet in Texas, USA, on Saturday. The Trinidad and Tobago sprint star was in a race of her own, finishing well ahead of second-placed Erica Alexander, the American getting home in 7.28. Ahye had earlier clocked 7.19 seconds to take top spot in her qualifying heat. The 23-year-old Carenage athlete has been on fire this season, opening her campaign on December 12 with a world-leading time of 7.14 seconds in the 60m dash, as well as a 23.19 200m clocking—also a world-leading time. On January 15, Ahye produced a 7.17 seconds 60m run. And on the weekend, she improved on her world lead with the 7.12 scorcher.
