PEREZ RULESSean Taylor :: Trinidad Express :: 25.10.2015The wind and driving rain couldn’t stop Cuban runner Richer Perez from copping the 2015 UWI SPEC International Half-Marathon yesterday morning when he crossed the finish line at UWI SPEC. The Cuban athlete finished in a fast one hour and eight minutes, which was 18 seconds faster than last year’s winning time. This year’s race featured around 1,200 participants ranging among the casual and part-time runners to the elite athletes who have become household names at the event over the years. Among the favourites yesterday was Brazil’s Daniel Chavez da Silva, who won last year’s edition in 1:08:18. |
