Jehue Gordon returns to the track today for his first competitive outing since winning the men’s 400 metres hurdles title at the World Championships in Moscow, Russia, last month.

The Trinidad and Tobago track star will be on show at the Belgacom Van Damme Memorial IAAF Diamond League meet, in Brussels Belgium. He squares off against American Michael Tinsley, the man who captured silver, behind Gordon, in Moscow. The one-lap hurdles field also includes Dominican Republic’s two-time Olympic champion Felix Sanchez and Puerto Rican Javier Culson.

In Moscow, Gordon struck gold in the 400m hurdles in 47.69 seconds—a new national record and the fastest time in the world this year. He dived over the line in the final, getting home just ahead of Tinsley, the American champion finishing second in 47.70.

Another T&T athlete, Keston Bledman faces the starter in the Van Damme Memorial men’s 100m dash. He will do battle with track legend Usain Bolt, American sprint star Justin Gatlin, and Bolt’s Jamaica teammate Nesta Carter.

Bolt grabbed gold in the century at last month’s World Championships, beating Gatlin and Carter into second and third, respectively.
